Chairman Report

Another year has passed by all too quickly but it has been enjoyable with a good programme of walks and socials and the weekend away in Cumbria.

My very sincere thanks to all Committee members who gave up six Monday evenings to attend meetings. Their dedication should be appreciated by all.

The usual happy band of volunteers to lead walks are to be congratulated on providing a varied and interesting programme. On the subject of volunteers, would any other members like to come forward and offer their services. We could use a few new faces and ideas which would lessen the load for those of us who lead more than one walk a year. Marilyn, thanks again for a superb job all year round, the time you put in organising the weekend away, coach trips and organising Grass Routes is phenomenal.

Thanks also to Rachel and Tony for the printing of Grass Routes.

Our Accounts are kept in very good order thanks to the eagle eye and remarkable aptitude for figures of our Treasurer, Margaret, Thank You.

We should not forget our auditor, Malcolm, who manages to fit this job in between his other duties (holidays).

I cannot fail to mention our Secretary, Phil Beard. Apart from being Secretary he leads walks (monthly, coach trip walks, evening, long walks and Wednesday walks). He can also be seen tidying up St. Mary’s Well on Bridge Street. Thanks Phil.

Our Social events were good, Beetle Drives could be addictive, they are enjoyable, light hearted not to mention good company. The quiz was good - I had some input but Kath put in most of the effort.

Thank you all for your company over the past twelve months and I look forward to seeing you all over the coming year.
