Longer walks are provided in the summer months for those members who prefer more challenging distances and terrain. They are usually between 10 - 12 miles.

SATURDAY, 26th AUGUST 2017                                                  HAYFIELD CIRCULAR

A 9 mile walk around the hills of Hayfield. An interesting walk with great views and some steep ascents.

Starting at Bowden Bridge to Peep O day farm – Sett Valley-Lantern Pike- returning via Kinder Reservoir.

Meet at 9.30 a.m. in the Bowden Bridge car park (Pay & Display) on Kinder Road, a kilometre east of Hayfield (Grid Ref 048869)

Bring a packed lunch.

SATURDAY, 30th SEPTEMBER 2017                              MARSDEN CIRCULAR


A circular walk from Marsden, about 9 miles.

Leaving Marsden via Standedge Tunnel, we will ascend Close Moss, a steady climb with only a very few steep sections. Joining the Pennine Bridleway, we continue on and descend, with far reaching views throughout.

Meet at 10.00 a.m. at Marsden Moor Estate car park. Turn onto cobbled entrance to car park shortly before railway station (signposted).
